Under AB 2555, California English learners are reclassified based solely on the Summative ELPAC: an Overall performance level 4. Districts can no longer add local criteria, and reclassified students are still monitored for four years. Speaking and Writing are the hand-scored domains, and they are often where secondary and long-term English learners (LTELs) lose points: short answers, missing reasons, weak linking words. These ten-minute daily routines give grades 6–12 students many low-stakes rounds of practice in the style of all nine secondary Speaking and Writing task types. Practice in the style of ELPAC task types; not official ELPAC materials. Every prompt is original.
