California's AB 2555 (2026) changed reclassification: an English learner is now reclassified based only on an Overall Level 4 on the Summative ELPAC (or Level 3 on the Alternate ELPAC). Local committees, teacher sign-off and extra criteria are gone, students with 2025–26 scores must be reclassified between Sept 27, 2026 and Jan 31, 2027, and reclassified students are still monitored for 4 years. Families need clear explanations in a language they understand. This kit gives office staff, EL coordinators and teachers ready-to-send letters in English with a matching Spanish page for each.

Pairs well with
- ELAC Meeting Kit for a Full School Year (English & Spanish): it includes a bilingual ELAC agenda and family handout on the ELPAC and AB 2555 reclassification, so your committee hears the same message as these letters.
- ELPAC Speaking & Writing Daily Routines (Grades 6–12): while these letters explain the Overall Level 4 rule to families, it gives grades 6–12 students ten-minute daily practice in the style of the ELPAC Speaking and Writing task types.
- Designated ELD Kit for Long-Term English Learners (Grades 5–8): for long-term English learners in grades 5–8, it adds a daily designated ELD routine and a Level 4 self-check toward the same AB 2555 goal.
